Hi, this is Jennifer! Thanks for checking us and our story out. In the Spring of 2017, our family received the devastating news that Brendan, my husband and father to our 4 young children all under age 6, had stage IV non-smoker’s lung cancer. Given the uncertainties of the future and the loss of his job due to his health, we set to create a business together. The Tranquil Abode was launched as both a family adventure to spend time together as well as a means to create income, help with medical expenses, and contribute to charitable causes like lung cancer research…all by supplying quality organizational products for your home!

In Memory of Our Founder, Brendan

My husband, Brendan, was only 31 at the time of his diagnosis and had to quit his career to undergo treatment. His vision for The Tranquil Abode was something we could build and work on together in our home with our four kids running around in the background. His heart was to provide financial security for those he loved most. And he did this all while battling a terminal illness and undergoing multiple rounds of treatments.

Brendan’s faith, passion, fierceness and “full-speed-ahead” mentality is unmatched. He was sharp, determined, and kind-hearted. He was also courageous, abundantly generous, and the best daddy any kid could hope for. We could not be more proud and thankful for how relentlessly he fought to live fully and to love those around him well. On April 26, 2021, after a 4-year battle, he went to his rest with his Savior. Now, we continue his legacy!

We are so thankful that Brendan’s vision for E-commerce helped provide for the family, but just as important, gave us so much more time together. The flexibility of working from home over the past four years also allowed for a number of wonderful trips. Brendan’s dad, John, joined him in helping grow the business after his retirement in early 2020. It has been a special adventure to work together and discover each other’s talents as we researched products, made design changes, arranged all the details of manufacturing and logistics, and strategized for the launch of each new product. We have all made many good memories together for which we are very grateful.
